Dr Sargan teaches courses in British literature and material culture covering the period 600-1800, with comparisons to other global literatures. He has offered undergraduate and graduate options, teaching material from Old English poetry to Hebrew romance. He has also offered classes in English palaeography and book history. In his classes students experiment with digital technologies, take a practical approach to the material text, and play with different modes of reading.
